About Laura Battiato
Laura has been studying wine since 2006, when she entered the Culinary Institute of America. She has had just about every job - both front and back of house - that the great restaurant industry encompasses, including corporate beverage purchasing for the Fig and Olive restaurant group and management of the beverage program at Locanda Verde and the Greenwich Hotel. She has also worked as a fromager (cheese expert). Today, Laura manages education and innovation for Independence Wine & Spirits, a NYC-based wine and spirits wholesaler. She holds a Wine & Spirits Education Trust Diploma, and is currently studying in the prestigious Master of Wine program.
